About

Hello and welcome to my blog!

A little bit about me: I graduated with a BA (Hons) in Graphic Design from Central St Martins in 1987 (Pictured above as a fresh faced student in 1984). I decided to start this blog after wondering what to do with an abundance of graphic ‘bits and pieces,’ collected as a result of my many years as a designer – things that just didn’t seem to have any other place to go.

My career has seen me provide creative leadership for many organisations, particularly in the design-led development, presentation and delivery of conceptual thinking.

Recently, as well as doing the odd bit of Design work for Ian Fleming Publications Ltd, I was Head of Design at global sports marketing agency Right Formula.

I spent many years at The BBC as a Graphic Designer. Other roles have included Head of Creative at BBC Worldwide where I led a large team of designers, creatives, copywriters and production staff. Art Director / Studio Manager at the digital arm of Lime Pictures, where I managed a creative team responsible for campaigns and design across TV and digital platforms, and Creative Director at BBC Broadcast / Red Bee Media specialising in branding and identity for television channels.

In recent times I spent an enjoyable few years as Head of Design at Formula E where I managed the day to day running of the Design studio and led the development and implementation of the championship’s brand identity, helping the sport achieve World Championship status.

My work has won many industry awards and nominations including BDA, RTS, Promax, New York Festivals, International Monitor, LEAF and BAFTA.

I reside in North London with my lovely wife and two daughters and spend much of my spare time listening to old Frank Sinatra records and drinking tea.
